In addition to all of my projects on github I've done a few other projects. Almost all of my new / rails projects are private or intranet projects that I can not list here. Most of what I can show you is much older work with the exception of www.neco.com. I also like to host a copy of my projects myself unless I maintain the project directly. I have passed my projects onto IT teams and let's just say I don't feel comfortable linking directly to the project.
National Event Company | www.neco.com
My first website in rails. This was a really fun project and I learned a ton about rails doing this project. NECO is one of the largest ticket suppliers in the country. They let me set up a promotion for any referrals I bring. So if you ever need tickets just go to this site and use promotion code binarylogic for a 5% discount. My gift to you.Setup: 4 server debian cluster (2 app / assets / web servers /, 1 DB server, 1 background process server), ruby on rails, mysql, thin, nginx, all deployed with cap using a staging environment, custom built admin area
World Events Group | www.worldeventspackages.com
I like to use this website as a testament to the power of rails. This was an extremely simple and quick website, I completed this website in less than a week and I think it turned our nice. This website offers exclusive VIP event packages. So if your considering going to the super bowl, or a big national event, check out this website for an all inclusive package (hotel, tickets, etc.).Setup: ruby on rails, mysql, thin, nginx, all deployed with cap using a staging environment, custom built admin area
Cary Clarke Homes | caryclarkehomes.binarylogic.com
This is an old client of mine. I developed their initial website in PHP in 2004. It was starting to get outdated. I decided to take their website and redo it in rails. I got to learn a lot things about Google Maps. But more importantly this is a good example of the power of rails, because I complete his website, in rails, in a fraction of the time it took me to do it in PHP. I finished this site in about 3 days.Setup: Debian linux, ruby on rails, mysql, thin, nginx, google maps, custom built admin area
Benchmark Research | benchmarkresearch.binarylogic.com
I like this website a lot. There is an interesting story behind this client. I was in college when I developed this and never had any problems with my clients. I had contracts with all of my clients, but a lot of times I did things extra or before payment out of trust. I always wanted to exceed their expectations, as cliche as that sounds. Maybe I was too naive. To make a long story short, Benchmark Research basically tried to screw me and not pay. What blows my mind is that this is a pretty large company. They have offices all over the country and they tried to screw some college kid, that might I say, charged a VERY reasonable fee. I was in college. I've had smaller clients pay more than this company. They were very aggressive when it came to driving the price down. The only reason I took the project was because I was doing a favor for one of my friends that worked there. I got the site done very fast. Maybe too fast and the client couldn't justify the price? Regardless they love it and are still using it. Oh well, I guess there will always be people like this in the world.Setup: debian linux, php, fastcgi, nginx, mysql, custom built CMS and admin area
EZEOB | ezeob.binarylogic.com
This is a website I built a while ago for a piece of software that automated the processing of EOB forms in a doctors office. Really cool piece of software. This website was fun because when you signed up for a demo you got assigned to the sales rep that was closest to you. It use longitude and latitude equations to determine who was closest and automatically assign the new customer to that person.Setup: debian linux, php, fastcgi, nginx, mysql, custom built CMS and admin area
Lazy J Hunting | www.lazyjhunting.com
I love the interface on this. This was a website I did for a pretty popular hunting ranch in Kansas. Believe it or not, it's pretty big there.Setup: debian linux, php, fastcgi, nginx, mysql, custom built CMS and admin area
Premium Insurance Jobs | premiuminsurancejobs.binarylogic.com
This was a really fun website. It's basically a job website. Our client needed this up yesterday so we had to rush the project a little bit and pull out a miracle. It still turned out really nice. Our plan was to add the finishing touches after it was up. Needless to say our client got into some legal issues unrelated to the website and had to shut down. What I think is funny, is that I completed this website in a little over 2 weeks. Why is monster.com such a terrible site? It's unintuitive, has an inconsistent interface, hard to use, ugly, etc. Yet its the #1 job site on the internet. Just goes to show the power of marketing.Setup: debian linux, php, fastcgi, nginx, mysql, custom built CMS and admin area
NimbusIP | nimbusip.binarylogic.com
I like the interface of this website, because I like blue. It's your typical company website, nothing too special.Setup: debian linux, php, fastcgi, nginx, mysql, custom built CMS and admin area
